Opus 5 can produce output that reads as confident but is wrong, including misstating what a clause says. Any contract analysis it produces must be checked against the actual document text by a lawyer before it informs negotiation.

Courts have sanctioned lawyers for relying on unverified AI output, most notably in Mata v. Avianca. In contract work, the same risk applies to a summary that misreads a material term.
